Halloween is here! People dress up as scary demons or a cute nurse to party or do some trick or treat. Here in Belgium it’s not as big as in the US, but we do celebrate it. And just like with any other Holiday, we also watch some appropriate films.
As horror is not my favorite Genre, I asked Yannick who loves horror; what’s your favorite horror film? His answer: The Conjuring Universe. So yeah, he couldn’t name one. The Conjuring Universe is a group of films, just like the Marvel Universe.
Film School
Horror is a lot of fun to create as a filmmaker as it involves many practical and visual effects. I mean, who doesn’t like to work with blood on set? In film school I saw many students try and make a horror in their first year, only to realize it’s not that easy.
The horror genre is quite difficult, just like comedy films. Such films are either great or bad, but there’s no in between. So if you’re making your first short film, I could highly recommend to make a drama or thriller.
