A promotional product video can put a product on the map and inspire people to get the product. But creating a video with the power to convince people isn’t that easy. In this tutorial we show how you can create a promotional product video with the tips we use in our own videos.

When you create such a promo video keep in mind that forcing people to buy the product won’t get the expected results. The trick is to make the people want it, let them get the idea they need it. A writer of a children’s book summarized this perfectly, “If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea,” said Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, creator of The Little Prince.

But besides the message of your video, how you bring it is also crucial for the success of your video. Every product is unique and ask for a different setting. Think about what feeling you want to create when telling your story. This feeling will automatically be linked with your product. So for example when selling alcohol, don’t incorporate children and happy families. Try to focus on adults, enjoying a beer with some friends. The right setting and mood will determine your audience and the success of you product.
