Saramonic UwMic10 Wireless Mic Review

Laveliere, Microphone, Saramonic

Saramonic, an audio equipment company from China sent us another wireless lavaliere microphone. This time it’s the Saramonic UwMic10. I’ve been using the Sennheiser G3 set for more than 3 years and it has always been a very reliable microphone set.
The new Saramonic UwMic10 comes however very close to my Sennheiser set. One of the first things I noticed was the build quality. It’s very sturdy as needed for extensive use. The display is bright and response fast, although the navigation is a bit clumsy.
One of the biggest features is probably the dual channel. You can hook up two mics on one receiver (TX10). Initially it’s made to work together with an additional handheld microphone from Saramonic. But any signal in the 600MHz can get hooked up to the receiver.
This last part about the 600Mhz is the one thing that does concern me. By law It’s even prohibited to use that range and chances are that this range will get sold soon as it’s up for auction and T-mobile seems to have much interest. But that won’t affect the sound quality.
Speaking of the sound quality, compared to the more expensive Sennheiser G3 set, the Saramonic mic delivers great sound. It’s not as clear, but definitely usable in a professional environment.
Also the range was impressive at 100 meters outdoor and more than 25 meters and 6 walls indoor without any problems.
At $270 for the Saramonic UwMic10, it’s a great bang for buck.
