Hollywood lighting is actually very cheap, you just need to to know where to look. In this tutorial we’re taking a look at tungsten lighting and how to use it in your cinematography film projects.

Happy Creative Tuesday! The holidays maybe over, but every Tuesday and Friday are holidays here at Cinecom. And today’s present is a very informative video tutorial about cheap lighting. Not everyone uses light in their projects, but light is very important. It will help you give a more professional look. And okay if you are filming outside, lights don’t really do much. But you have the sun, so you still have to pay attention to your lighting.

As the channel is growing, we need to grow with it. This means better content and productions. And we already took the first step to higher quality videos with buying a RED camera. And of course it doesn’t matter which camera you use to film with. It’s what you do with it. But the RED camera gives us more possibilities, like super slow motion in 4K and even filming in 5K. Which comes in handy for creating effects in the Copy Cat Friday videos.

Now the next step we took for a better Cinecom is in the studio. As you know we are creating a film studio. However every film studio needs to have professional lights. Now we have a few of those, but we use them on lights stands. So it’s not that practical. Luckily Jordy came with a great idea, hanging professional Tungston lights to the ceiling. First we were thinking about using LED panels, but damn they are expensive. So we went with second hand professional Tungston lights, which are 1/50th of the LED panel price. Of course a obvious choice.

For me growing means, doing more presentations in the tutorials. It’s a little bit out of my comfort zone, but you’ll be seeing more of me in the future. Hopefully you will like it.
