You don’t need an expensive camera and we are proving that today with a toy camera. Learn the basics of film making and capture great shots with any camera, even if that is your smartphone and old DSLR or a kidizoom.

Today is the day that we are going outside our comfort zone. In this weeks Creative Tuesday we are working with a really bad camera. We are doing this to show you that it doesn’t matter how good or bad your camera is. It all depends what you do with it. Of course, we all love to watch video in super high resolution. But we are trying to prove that you don’t always need the fanciest equipment to make a great movie. Your composition will determine quite a lot. This is the same for your sound-design, bad sound makes a video harder to watch then a video in low quality.

For this video we especially bought a Kidizoom Duo. A Kid’s camera with a 5 megapixel sensor (320×240 resolution video), so you can really say it’s a bad camera. At first I was quite skeptic with the whole idea of doing a video with a bad camera. Because I was afraid of a bad outcome and what you guys would think. But Jordy convinced me to do it anyways, because if we can show that a bad camera can make beautiful shots. Then you can really learn something valuable from this video. Besides all of this, it’s also a challenge for us. It’s not that we are used to work with such a camera. We are also still learning everyday from making our own videos.

  1. Hey Jordy! Thank you so much for making such amazing and helpful videos. You are the most amazing Youtube channel like ever. I was wondering is there was a way that you could do a tutorial on how to do a video like this one, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iDuZv_5MQk ) I really liked it, and was wondering how to do it. Thanks bro. You are the bomb!

  2. hello!
i’m dutch myself but i thought i’d write this in english so others won’t get confused by me. i wanted to ask you guys at cinecom to add the footage recorded on the website or description, so people like me who don’t have any good equipment can use your footage to try the effects you showcase for fun or just try it before using them in a real project. i’m not asking for you to add the vfx and sounds you got from your sponsors since well, i don’t have to explain. and if you don’t think my request is a good idea, i’d really appreciate to hear why, ofcourse i’ll respect your opinion if you think my idea is just plain stupid.
thanks for doing so much to make as much as possible for us cheap/free and easy, i and many others appreciate it since almost no other channel like yours gives away presets and other things away for free. keep up the good work guys, thanks to you guys i can always fall back on your tutorials when i fail myself!
