Scribble Effect

Now after seeing the video, you are probably a pro in making the liquid swirl animations. Or maybe you even traced your own flames or liquid streams. Who knows? But there are even more techniques you can use to create such awesome animations.

And one is the brush tool. It’s a simple brush you can use in After Effects. With this tool you can draw lines or shape or even real drawings. And then you have the possibility to choose their duration, which you can set to one single frame. If you then draw multiple lines in a succession of each other you will create a custom animation.

We used and explained this technique in our Scribble effect video from Kendrick Lamar a while back. And here we really go in depth, showing you how the technique works. Which will also show you that this technique will consume a lot of time making. You can compare with stop-motion but then with hand-drawn scribble lines.
