E.T. Glowing Finger Effect in Premiere Pro

Guys, we are really into the older effects these days. However this is not only an old effect but also a new effect. As you know E.T. is quite an old movie, to be precise from 1982. But recently they relaunched the lovable alien in a tv commercial for Xfinity, a telecom company.  And if I must say, they really did a good job with the commercial and the relaunch. Their video went up the trending list and even caught our attention. And because it’s such a iconic effect, it’s perfect for this weeks Copy Cat Friday.

Another iconic effect is an effect from the father of VFX, Georges Méliès. In 1901 he created a ‘trick -film’ were he duplicates his head and with a pump blows it up till it exploded. If you see the effect now, you’ll think how bad is that. But if you think about the time it was made it, it’s really revolutionary .You can it a the first masking or rotoscoping with an extra effect of enlarging the head. Really mind blowing if think about it.
