Adobe Premiere Pro, Falling through the sky, Green Key, Travis Scott

Learn how to create the sky diving visual effect from Travis Scott, Yosemite in Adobe Premiere Pro. In this tutorial video you will learn how to fall through the sky.

It’s another great week for music videos on Youtube. There was even one clip who broke a record for most views on 24 hours. The clip I’m speaking of is Thank u, next by Ariana Grande. Which hit 60 millions views in over 24 Hours and thus breaking the record from BTS. However I’m most sadly say we aren’t doing an effect from this music clip. We watched it several times to find something we could recreate, but we couldn’t find anything. Lucky Travis Scott also decided to bring out a new clip, YOSEMITE. There were a few cool effects, but the effect that we liked the most and that we are recreating is falling through the sky.

Falling Through the Sky Effect

In the video clip you can see a little boy falling through the sky after he jumped from a rock. We are going to recreate this effect with a green screen and some simple tips to recreate the falling feeling. In the real clip they probably used a harness with a wiring system. This is often used in action movies to really fly through the air. Probably when you see a long jump or a super hero doing something crazy, they are probably attached to a wire. It even goes as far as Spiderman really swinging from a wire through a street set. Or Tom Cruise really walking on the side of a skyscraper in Mission impossible. If the effect is doing properly and you have a professional wiring system, you can create stunning special effects.

But sadly we don’t have that kind of system, so we went looking for different ways. We tried hanging on ropes, standing in front of a green screen. But we found out that laying on our side on bar-stool was the best way to do it. Just put a green screen on the floor, also cover your barstools with a green cloth and that’s it. Owh yes, you can also use a leaf blower to add the wanted air effects. This will make it more realistic and will really sell the effect.
