epic mirror dash from julien bam (Premiere Pro Tutorial)
Aaaaaah It’s Friday again, lay back in your chair and pop those feet onto your desk. Because it’s time to watch a new episode of Copy Cat Friday. In today’s video we’ll show you how to create the Mirror Dash Effect also knows as the Naruto Mirror Run, created by Julien Bam. This effect got really popular because of the platform TikTok. I really love it because everybody is doing it but giving there own creative spin to it. So that meant we had to jump on the hype train!
In this video we explain how to create this effect and how to use props to create cool effects. However you can also take this to the next level. Instead of using your phone and being limited to a small mirror you can fake the mirror. This means replacing the mirror to film yourself with a slider where a camera is attached to. At both ends of the slider you can put down a foreground object so you block the camera and so also the cut. Now you can run from one end to the other with your smartphone in your hand pretending to be filming. In the meantime someone else moves the camera over the slider. Just repeat this as many times as you want until you get the video you want.
The benefits of doing it this way is that your image quality will be way better than on the phone. You don’t need to stabilize the shot and you’ll have a silky smooth side movement. So before I send you of into the weekend I want you guys to recreate this effect because boy did we have fun making this! But most important of all don’t forget to share it with us via Instagram by tagging us!
