A.I. for vFX artists

These days we cant ignore the sudden up rise of A.I. software. Its everywhere, some more advanced as others. Lately things like Dall-E 2 have gotten a lot of attention. Its an advanced text to imagine generator that works extremely well. So well that some creatives don’t like these as it could according to them make them lose their jobs.

In my eyes its far from the truth, I see these tools as things to speed up your workflow, explore new ways to be creative.

Dall-E 2 Outpainting

Dall-E recently released its new feature called outpainting. Basically what it allows you to do is to paint away parts of an imagine and focus on that part only. Not only that but you can also extend the image and generate what would have been out of frame.

Like we show in our video we use this new feature to paint out parts of buildings so we can extend them again. Repeating this step gives you a sequence of images which later on you can stitch together for a smooth animation.
